Dr Brian Christopher Chen
Founder and Principal Dentist of Smile28 and Dentessence. Third generation dentist from his family, grew up in Canada. Firm believer that Dentistry should not be expensive and believes in affordable dentistry without sacrificing quality. Dr Brian is an Dental Implant Surgeon, has placed more than 4000+ implants in his career up to date with a 93% success rate. He is also a Key Opinion Leader for Dentium Implants. Constantly updating his knowledge through conference and courses and actively involved in bringing in new technology to Malaysia and his clinic to offer his patients the best.

Dr Sarah Yik Pui Yeng
Dr Sarah completed her degree from Penang International Dental College & Vinayagar Research Mission University. She graduated in year 2012 and obtained the Chancellor Award and Alexander Fleming Award in year 2008 during her studies.
She served under the Health Ministry at various clinics in Ipoh from 2012-2016 and joined the private practice from 2016. She is also a member of the Malaysian Dental Association and Council,
Dr Sarah is an enthusiastic & soft spoken person who treats her patient gently and with care. She loves seeing transformation from whitening procedures as she strongly believes a bright & clean smile represents good health, beauty and boost better self esteem. She also has special interest in Periodontology and aims to provide better gum care to her patients.

Dr Joann Yong Sook Mei
Dr Joann Yong received her dental degree in 2011 and obtained her Membership of Faculty of Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK in 2014. Her interest in orthodontics has led her to pursue her specialty training at the National University of Malaysia (UKM) and was awarded
Doctor of Clinical Dentistry with Distinction in 2020.
Dr Joann had served under the Ministry of Health with working experiences at various specialty clinics and hospitals. She is also actively involved in research and has several publications to her name.

Dr Tan Siew Cheh
Dr. Tan is a qualified Orthodontist with the Ministry of Health Malaysia. She graduated DDS in 2007, from University Science of Malaysia (USM). In 2012, she joined University College of London/Eastman Dental Institute to pursue on her specialist training and obtained her Master degree in Clinical Orthodontics and Membership in Orthodontics.

Ms Jenny is one of our pioneer employees who has been with us for many years. Being the big sister in our company, she is always giving her full effort in assisting to manage the whole team, also responsible for all administrative duties and providing support for all organizational activities. Travelling between all 3 branches, Ms Jenny is very dedicated and always there to give support to all team members when needed.

I had root canal and crown treatment and it was successfully done 2 days ago. At first, I had very serious swelling on my gum and suffered from bleeding and discharges there. Worsely, I couldn't chew food at all on the side with the tooth. Dr.Max carefully scanned my teeth by X-ray and did wonderful job for my sick tooth. He meticulously and elaborately treated the tooth and every moment checked if I felt pain. Thank to his very skilled anesthesia injection, there only was minor poking sensation without pain.
After the first root canal treatment, the swelling on the gum totally disappeared then I got two times more treatments, now I fully recovered and have no problem to chew even rough food.
The facilities and equipments of Detessence Dental Clinic are so modern and the atmosphere is very neat, clean, and friendly. Every staff was so kind let alone Dr.Max, and even when I was an hour late on the last treatment day because of heavy traffic, they waited for me and had to finish their work an hour late.
Moreover, the treatment charge of root canal and crown is very reasonable compared to other clinics and I really appreciate it.

Scheduled for a wisdom tooth surgery after the consultation weeks prior. Dr Crystal as usual diligently reminded me of the appointment. Really appreciate the gesture as I was freaking out, first tooth removal by a dentist for me.
Dr Max & assistant attended to me. Such a relief to have them working on my tooth. They did their best to destress me as I was losing my cool thinking of it’s gonna be a surgery. To my surprise, close to ZERO PAIN throughout the procedure.
I strongly believe other dentists are great at work as well but do insist for Dr Max. Comes with no regret. You might stick with him for life.

I was pleasantly surprised by the sudden brightly renovated clinic which I had been visiting since 13+ years ago. An upgrade to this place needed for sometime. I was again pleasantly surprised by such friendly greeting by the front CS . Then I found out there has been a change in management and owners. Owners have changed, service now even levelled up. Services this new team of dentists n specialist provide have also been levelled up👍🏼👍🏼🙌🏼....really wide range of dental services here now and fees to me reasonable. Dr Sherilyn helped me with my needed dental care. I am happy with her work. Crystal and Ain at CSvc was really pleasant and friendly. Thank you new Team. Will definitely recommend more of my friends here❗️

I feel fortunate to have found Dr. Brian in my area (Port Dickson), a highly qualified dentist with the greatest level of expertise in implantology. I have had an extraction procedure and 2 titanium Dentium implants with zirconia crowns performed in January and May 2024. Every step was explained, every care taken for my comfort and to minimize pain. The work completed was perfectly executed by the entire dental team using state of the art equipment.
Dr. Brian is very patient, attentive, professional and caring of his patients. Dental assistants are very kind and professional as well.

Had a really good experience with Dr Max and nurse Hidayah. They were both very gentle, patient, and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. Dr Max explained everything clearly and nurse Hidayah was super kind and reassuring. Really appreciate their care – thank you both!
